All members of Rotary, during a conversation with friends or relations, have been asked to answer a question that seems very simple: what is Rotary?

The simplicity is only apparent because it is difficult to answer such a question briefly

However, the interlocutor is rarely willing to listen to a long presentation

It is therefore a question of improvising, in a few dozen words, an answer which summarizes what Rotary is.

It is recommended to prepare for this situation, to avoid any hesitation which risks being perceived as ignorance of the subject.

Many answers have been proposed, each as good and relevant as the last.
