How does one become a Rotarian?

The most common procedure for joining Rotary is by sponsorship.

A future Rotarian Sponsor identifies a person likely to become a member.

He/she contacts them, introduces them to Rotary, and makes sure of their morality and their motivation to join the Club

If these first contacts are positive, the President of the Club submits the application to the Committee which verifies the criteria for membership of Rotary.

The Sponsor then invites the candidate to one or more statutory meetings so that the candidate and the members of the Club get to know each other.

The candidacy is officially announced by the President to the members of the Club who have 7 days to signal a possible duly substantiated objection.

The enrollment is carried out with a certain solemnity during a forthcoming statutory meeting

Note that there are also unsolicited applications transmitted by the Rotary International website.

The Sponsor is then designated by the President and the above process applies
