The President of Rotary International

The President of Rotary International is the highest-ranking Rotary officer and chairs the Rotary Board of Directors.

He/she is the first representative of Rotary to Heads of State, the media and the public.

The presidency is a wonderful opportunity for a Rotarian who has demonstrated leadership in the business, government or association sector.

The President must:
• have real communication skills (oral and written)
• be a positive, charismatic leader capable of motivating Rotarians around
the world
• choose an annual theme and propose objectives
• promote the Rotary Foundation.

He/she is chosen by a Nominating Commission made up of 17 representatives from the 34 zones that make up Rotary International.

His/her term is one year The previous year, President-elect, he/she was a Member of the Board of
Directors

All candidates must have served a full term as a Rotary Administrator.
