Rotary works to protect bees
Transcript :
The United Nations has designated May 20 as World Bee Day.
Rotary is committed to supporting actions that strengthen the protection and conservation of natural resources, advance ecological sustainability, and promote harmony between humans and the environment, such as the preservation of bees.
A third of the world’s food production depends on bees.
Like any pollinator, they contribute directly to food security.
Nearly three-quarters of the plants that produce 90% of the world’s food need this outside help.
They are famous for their nutritional role, but are also part of the biodiversity we depend on for our survival.
Threatened with extinction due in particular to air pollution, intensive agriculture and pesticides, it is crucial to act to save them.
In recent years, more and more clubs, particularly in France and Germany, have been mobilizing for bees through numerous actions.
