The history of The Rotarian magazine
Transcript :
The Rotarian magazine was founded in 1911 by Rotary International founder Paul P. Harris and Secretary Chesley R. Perry.
The magazine was initially intended to share information with a growing number of Rotarians, but as the organization expanded globally, it became a platform to highlight Rotary’s work and mission.
The magazine has covered a wide range of topics over the years, including business ethics, character development, membership growth, and the effects of war.
It has also featured contributions from well-known critics, authors, artists, and photographers.
Today, more than half of Rotarians worldwide receive a regional magazine instead of The Rotarian.
The Rotary World Magazine Press publishes more than 30 officially licensed Rotary regional magazines, which are produced independently by Rotarians and distributed in more than 130 countries in more than 20 languages.
The Rotarian magazine has played an important role in connecting Rotarians around the world and sharing the stories of their service projects and impact.
It continues to be a valuable resource for Rotarians who want to learn more about the organization and its work.
